The presentation, taking place on March 4th, 2008, of the anastatic edition of the Zibaldone by Telemaco Signorini, a fellow painter of Fattori, was the first event of the celebrations.  Edited by Balloni, the anastatic edition makes it possible at last to consult this complex and unique volume, where Signorini synthesized all the contemporary themes of modernity as well as his inspiration motifs: the invention of photography, engraving, social commitment as well as his relations with Proudhon and Verism. The original will be on display at the Gallery of Modern Art of Palazzo Pitti, whereas copies of it  will be donated to all public libraries in Italy.

The meeting Light Effects on restoration techniques of 19th-century paintings (November 13th -14th), sprang from the interventions on Fattori’s works, promoted by the Gallery of Modern Art under the name Progetto Giovanni Fattori. For the first time the best international experts on conservation of paintings on canvas and wooden panels from the 19th century will meet and discuss.
